I've done two albums like this. Recrudesence (breaking out afresh or into renewed activity; revival or reappearance in active existence). Recrudesence is on the WAAG label. The other is Metamophosis (changing). These experiments were basically taking existing pieces and changing them. Transforming them via a variety of ways, reversing, changing pitch, adding reverb, etc etc. Also, in some cases, adding extra bits here and there. Some worked, some didn't. They're really just remixed/re-imagined. In my world it's classed as messing about. The original pieces I used were intentionally forgotten, even I am not sure what, or where the pieces come from or what they were called. And yes, this was intentional.
